Professional Charlatans, Volume I
by Kingsley Reardon
In a lifetime of business success Kingsley Reardon has met his fair share of challenging individuals. For every twenty people in his address book there will inevitably be at least one charlatan. From playboy pretenders to lawyers worried about everything but the law, charlatans are a hazard of both professional and personal life. In this series, Kingsley Reardon presents his most entertaining, infuriating and downright shocking experiences with charlatans, providing a helpful and educational manual to spotting professional tricksters in all of their guises. From the chicanery of bankers to fortune tellers, nannies to receptionists, builders to politicians, Professional Charlatans is exhaustive in its survey of how fraudsters insinuate themselves into every aspect of our lives. From the amateur zookeeper who could not control his lion to the negligent chemistry teacher who blew up his laboratory, from the nefarious homeopath who urged his clients not to trust medical remedies to the reckless businessman who threw away his marriage for the sake of a game of golf, this humorous and informative volume offers a story to suit everyone’s tastes.
Kingsley Reardon has worked in an executive capacity for over forty years as CEO, Chairman and Director of a dozen multinational companies. Many of his positions involved marketing, high-level negotiation, and even legislation. The thousands of conmen and frauds with whom he came into contact inspired him to pen this collection of stories. Having minored in literature at university, Reardon has nurtured a love of creative writing throughout his life and, upon his retirement from the business world four years ago, decided finally to dedicate himself to his true passion and produce this multi-volume series.
